It always seemed odd to me that sometimes the bOrg would remind us that we're not just serving for a reward, and we're not just serving for a date. Yet, most of the time they kept reminding us what the reward was and how soon the end was coming. In conclusion I'd like to ask, "Where's my freakin' pet tiger that I was supposed to get back in 1975?"
P.S.: I would have included WT and KM quotes about the 'reward' and 'date' thing, but hey? What's in it for me to look up that crap? Ya gonna send me to eternal bliss in paradise or something?

when i turned in my appeal letter, the elder i turned it in to tried to talk me out of appealing.

Jake, It's not unusual to feel that way. When you're truly "in", everything seems so good and right, wonderful, perfect. When you look at everything from the outside, it is entirely different. You have very quickly gone from "in" to "out". It will be a very rough ride. But you have something that most don't have when this happens... JWD right here. Before you start thinking you can appeal again and everything can go back to the way it was, sorry, that won't happen. Either the DF will be upheld, or if it is overturned you will still be 'publicly reproved'. In either case, from the sound of your JC, they will make it as slow, painful, and embarrasing as possible for you to make any progress in returning. Please keep your senses through all of this. for those of you that dont know me, i am a single dad with 3 boys for 5 years now, my x signed her rights away long ago.. .
no support ever, no insurance, even before she signed her rights away, many long stories of her abuse that caused her to lose custody to me years ago, she has never dealt with her abuse over even acknowledged it, i put my kids thru years of counseling, and they do not wish to see her, she has been calling alot lately, i dont hear from her for maybe 4 months at a time, she is crying , wanting to try to see them.. i must tell you she has , mentally , physically, and mentally sexually abused them, and then charged me with sexual abuse, with which it took me a year in evaluations, and family studies , and 35,000 in lawyer fees to disprove, and the judge saw her lies and removed them from her for abuse.
i also believe she has many emotional problems , both real and imagined.
My question is this, am i a bad man for not letting her see them?
I'm not your judge, so I'll only state my opinion based on what I read. You are not a bad man. Apparently the courts and professional counsellors agree that she should not be in contact with them.
She was an abuser, is still unstable, and could be an abuser again. On one hand, it may be okay for her to see them. However, it may be extremely traumatic for the boys to see her.
Consequently, I don't see it as an issue for her to decide. When your sons are mature and well-balanced enough to deal with seeing her, it will be their decision whether they do or do not want to have any dealings with her.
Like I said, it's just my opinion.
i like to read the km to see what the wtbts is saying, and then to think about what they really mean.. information appears in the km when problem need to be addressed in the organization.

my younger brother tried to kill himself today.

my mother told me the news in the cruelest of ways and i am now in a fog.. i blame the jw's and all the bullshit they put on children who are df.
Just seeing the word "suicide" brings back many painful personal memories, and obviously for many others on this forum. I'm glad that the attempt failed.
Have you introduced him to JWD? This has proven to be better than Prozac for me.
